River Arts District
 

Foundation Woodworks

Located in the River Arts District of Asheville, Foundation Woodworks houses a collective of artists who craft woodwork. The gallery displays wooden kitchen items, jewelry, as well as custom sculptures and furniture. If you are an artist looking for space to work, there is studio space available. Mark Bettis Studio and Gallery

Mark Bettis Studio and Gallery is located in the heart of the vibrant River Arts District in Asheville. This studio is home to five different artists who work on contemporary art including glass sculptures, wildlife paintings and abstract paintings. This gallery also offers workshops for aspiring artists looking to learn.

St. Claire Art

Located in the River Arts District, St. Claire Art features the work of Stephen St. Claire, a local artist who specializes in the oil painting technique called Dialuminism. This means “light passing through” and his style allows for a dimensional painting that looks different depending on where the viewer is standing and how the light hits it. Stop in to see Stephen’s work and to learn more about his process.

310 Art Gallery

Located in the River Arts District of Asheville, this gallery features the work of 25 local artists. With a mixture of contemporary art, sculptures and photography, this gallery showcases creativity of all shapes and sizes. During the pandemic, they are offering interactive virtual classes for purchase, so you can express your creativity while staying safe.

Momentum Gallery

Located in downtown Asheville, Momentum Gallery features contemporary pieces from both local and national artists. The collection is curated with Asheville in mind, with many pieces featuring art influenced by mountain scenery. Casual browsers are more than welcome to see what this gallery has to display. Visits are by appointment-only for the time-being, so make sure to reserve a time to stop in.

Ariel Gallery

This Biltmore Avenue gallery is a Contemporary Art Cooperative owned by the award-winning artists that are featured. Some of the creations featured at this gallery are hand-crafted jewelry, pottery, metalwork, woodwork, and furniture. Because the artists also owning the gallery, you can speak with the creator before you purchase a piece.

Blue Spiral 1

Blue Spiral 1 features three floors of contemporary fine art, and often has 4-5 simultaneous exhibits going on within different spaces throughout the gallery. This gallery features art from many different artists, and many of the exhibitions at the gallery feature the work of particular artists. Located on Biltmore Avenue, the gallery is close to many of Asheville’s hottest spots, so you can stop in during a day on the town.

Lexington Glassworks

Looking to be a part of the creative experience while at the gallery? Lexington Glassworks offers this experience. You can watch glassblowers at work while you visit the gallery and see how the art is actually created. There is also a taproom at this gallery where you can enjoy local craft beers in glasses that were created on site.
